The TGR Learning Lab is excited to kick off Back to School month and a new academic year serving students in grades 5–12 through our expanded learning programs and events, which are offered after school and on Saturdays. The Learning Lab continues to be a vital resource for students across the city and surrounding areas, where the demand for safe, high-quality learning opportunities beyond the classroom continues to grow. We are especially grateful for our strong partnerships with local school districts, whose collaboration helps make these enriching programs possible for the communities we serve.

Expanded learning plays a critical role in supporting academic success and personal growth. At the TGR Learning Lab, students find a safe space to learn, a quiet place to complete homework and the freedom to explore career-connected subjects not typically offered in school, such as medical biotechnology, robotics, forensic science, and entrepreneurship. Our hands-on courses are designed to build on knowledge learned in school while giving students access to advanced tools and technologies that prepare them for future careers. With our commitment to career-connected learning and preparation, we provide exciting experiences for our members such as esports tournaments, career panels and the Career Explorer Academy. These experiences offer real-world insight, mentorship and exposure to emerging industries and professions.

More than just a program, the TGR Learning Lab is a space where young people can discover their passions, gain confidence and work toward bright futures. One student, Bruno, has discovered his passion for animation through hands-on experiences that have allowed him to bring his ideas to life. What started as a curiosity about how cartoons and video games work has quickly grown into a deep interest in storytelling, design and motion. Through our courses, he has been able to explore digital media, experiment with animation software and understand the creative process behind the scenes.
Bruno is inspired to pursue animation as a future career. He knows it’s a path where he can blend art, technology and storytelling to create meaningful and entertaining work. With continued support, access to advanced tools and opportunities to develop his skills, he is motivated to turn his passion into a lifelong pursuit. We look forward to supporting more students like Bruno in discovering careers that align with their passions and talents.
This academic year also marks a major milestone— the TGR Learning Lab’s 20th anniversary in February. For two decades, we’ve proudly served as a hub of innovation and learning, empowering thousands of young people to reach their full potential.
As we celebrate our past and look forward to the future, we remain committed to providing learning opportunities that inspire, educate and open doors for students in Anaheim and beyond.
There’s so much to look forward to this year at the TGR Learning Lab! From engaging classes like sports science and animation to clubs like our growing Marketing Studio and esports team, students have countless opportunities to explore their interests and develop new skills. Exciting events such as our esports tournaments and Neon Night promise to make this year both fun and memorable. We’re also thrilled to launch our new website that will have the latest updates, program details and registration information.
