This spring, the TGR Learning Lab Anaheim continued providing students with engaging, hands-on opportunities to learn, grow and explore their interests through STEAM, leadership, college access and career-connected experiences.

Throughout the spring 2 session, students in grades 5–12 participated in field trips, workshops, clubs and special events designed to build confidence, encourage creativity and strengthen problem-solving and teamwork skills.

One highlight of the session was the Adulting 101 workshop series, where students gained practical, real-world skills through interactive activities. During a dorm room cooking session, students learned about nutrition, budgeting and teamwork while preparing Bibimbap using simple, dorm-friendly tools. Students also participated in a hands-on drywall repair workshop, introducing them to basic home maintenance and problem-solving skills.

Students in the Expanded Learning Program also continued participating in after-school clubs and enrichment opportunities. Members of the new Running Team Club completed their first 5K in Seal Beach after weeks of training and preparation, building perseverance, confidence and teamwork along the way.

The Learning Lab also hosted new Friday Night Events, including the Mad Scientist Escape Room, where students worked together to solve clues and complete science-themed challenges in a fun and collaborative environment.

Looking ahead, the TGR Learning Lab Anaheim is preparing for an exciting summer of hands-on learning through programs like the College and Career Bound Academy, where high school students will explore college access, financial aid, career pathways and future opportunities through immersive workshops and field trips.
